Official Dress
As FFA members, we have the opportunity to impact many people who may or may not be familiar with the organization: community residents, business people, FFA sponsors, guests, parents, etc. Therefore, first impressions are crucial, and that involves the way we dress. ALL FFA members are required to wear official dress while participating in official activities. Please have your students arrive in Monroe in Official Dress. The Louisiana FFA Executive Committee requests that all advisors ensure that their FFA members follow the standards of official dress as outlined in the Official FFA Manual.

Check the following FFA Official Dress guidelines:

  • Official FFA jacket zipped to the top
  • Official FFA tie or scarf
  • Correct number of pins displayed
  • Skirts of appropriate length
  • Appropriate footwear

It’s an honor to wear the blue corduroy jacket and official dress representing the legacy of FFA. Wear it properly and with pride!

Suggested Attire for Non-Members (Advisors, Parents, and other Guests)

  • Business attire
  • No hats/caps inside the convention center

Selecting Members to Attend

Each FFA Chapter must have two voting delegates in attendance at the State Convention.  Please be aware that by ruling of the State FFA Executive Committee, chapters will not be awarded four delegates if the chapter maintains Blue and Gold chapters for CDE purposes.  Strictly two delegates per chartered chapter will be granted.  However, do not limit your chapter participation to two members.  The State Convention provides an excellent opportunity to benefit all members through networking, leadership development, career exploration, and other enjoyable activities.

Official Delegates

Official delegates are required to attend every business session and delegate committee meeting.  On Tuesday, June 4th  at 1:30 pm there will be a mandatory delegate business session to conduct the business of the association and to give instructions pertaining to the delegate process.

State Officer Candidates

There will be a training/orientation session on March 27th  at the Youth Center in Bunkie for candidates.  This workshop is mandatory.  A letter to each candidate will be sent with more information at a later date.  The agenda includes preparing for an interview and duties, commitments, and responsibilities of State Officers.  State Officer Candidates need to be at the Convention Center to take their exam on Tuesday, June 4 at 9:00 am, followed by their first round of interviews.  At 11:30 there will be a State Officer Candidate/Nominating Committee Luncheon sponsored by the Louisiana Beef Council.

Special Activities

Be sure to go to the State Convention website at www.laffa.org, and click on State Convention for all your convention registration and information needs.  Check back and check often for updates on exciting and educational activities such as workshops, tours, entertainment, and our convention kick-off activity, which will be held on the Tuesday evening.
