AFA LEADER AND ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS      
Image result for agriculture future of america    AFA and its partners award annual scholarships to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students enrolled in agriculture and food-related degree programs across the U.S. Awards vary in amounts, but are at least $1,600 and include sponsorship to AFA Leaders Conference (worth $1,250). The only cost to the student is the time spent filling out the application and travel expenses to AFA Leaders Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.

ALPHA GAMMA RHO SCHOLARSHIPS      
Image result for alpha gamma rho    Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) is a fraternity for young men pursuing any career related to the agriculture, food, or fiber industries. There are two AGR chapters in Louisiana - one at LSU and one at Louisiana Tech. A separate scholarship application exists for each university.

AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP      
  The American Legion awards an annual $1,000 scholarship to a senior FFA member or current college student enrolled in a Louisiana post-secondary institution. These members must have been a resident of Louisiana for at least the past three years (military families excepted).

ARK-LA-TEX AGRICULTURAL COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP      
 Image result for ark la tex agricultural council   The Ark-La-Tex Agricultural Council exists to promote the development and growth of agriculture in the region. Each year, scholarships are awarded to active FFA members who will attend a Louisiana college or university and major in some field of agriculture, home economics, or life sciences.

DR. RONALD N. MAYEUX MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP      

  The Dr. Ronald N. Mayeux Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a four-year senior Louisiana FFA member. Dr. Mayeux served as the Executive Secretary for Louisiana FFA from 2007-2014, was the 1962-1963 Louisiana FFA State President, and began his career as an ag teacher and FFA advisor. His dedication to the youth of Louisiana and to agricultural education is remembered by all. In his honor, his son and daughter-in-law, Kipp and Jennalyn Mayeux, have funded this ongoing, yearly scholarship program. A $2,500 will be awarded to a deserving senior member at the 90th Louisiana FFA Convention in June!

GROWING AMERICA'S FARMERS SCHOLARSHIP      
Image result for growing america's farmers    A Georgia-based non-profit, Growing America's Farmers, donates 25 cents of every 40-lb unit of Vidalia onions sold with the FFA trademark, and Louisiana is a beneficiary of this program. A $600 scholarship is available for a Louisiana FFA member going into production agriculture.

HANNAH LEE VINCENT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP      
   

Hannah Lee Vincent was the agriscience teacher and FFA advisor at Opelousas High School. She was not only a third generation FFA member, but a third generation agriscience teacher and FFA advisor, following in the footsteps of her mother, father, and grandfather. She embodied “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.”

LINDA AND WAYNE ZAUNBRECHER SCHOLARSHIP      
Image result for louisiana farm bureau federation    Students who are members of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation or children of adult members are eligible for the Linda and Wayne Zaunbrecher Scholarship sponsored by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Foundation. Applicants must plan to attend a Louisiana university or college and major in an agricultural field. The scholarship is renewable each year.

LOUISIANA AGRICULTURAL CONSULTANTS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP      
  The Louisiana Agricultural Consultants Association (LACA) is the association of a group of individual companies. Each company is independently owned, yet each, through LACA, works together toward a common goal: to provide agricultural producer-clients with the best information possible so that they may make a bountiful and profitable crop.

LOUISIANA COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM SCHOLARSHIP      
  The Louisiana Community and Technical College System offers a one-time $500 scholarship for any Louisiana FFA member who enrolls at an LCTCS campus. Additionally, a one-time $1,000 scholarship to any LCTCS campus is offered to any Louisiana FFA member who wins a state CDE or LDE.

LOUISIANA FORESTRY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP      
  The Louisiana Forestry Foundation, founded in 1967, has given almost $819,000 in scholarships to students majoring in forestry at Louisiana State University and Louisiana Tech – the two accredited forestry schools in the state – and Central Louisiana Technical & Community College – Oakdale Campus, for students enrolled in its forestry technician program.

LOUISIANA TECH SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES AND FORESTRY SCHOLARSHIPS      
  The Louisiana Tech School of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry offers many scholarship opportunities for both incoming freshmen and continuing students.


LSU COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE SCHOLARSHIPS      

  Incoming freshmen must submit a College of Agriculture scholarship application for consideration. All students who have been accepted to LSU and indicated a major in the College of Agriculture as his/her first choice will receive an email and letter by mail inviting them to submit an essay. Scholarship emails will begin going out around the first week of November, and will continue to be sent until mid-January. Due to award deadlines, only students who have been accepted up to this point will receive consideration. You can access the College of Agriculture scholarship application here on November 1st. This application is for newly admitted freshmen or transfers enrolling the following fall only and is due by February 1st.

MARGARET MAYEUX BLUE JACKET AWARD      
  The Margaret Mayeux Blue Jacket Award provides twenty Louisiana FFA members with their own FFA blue corduroy jackets. The jackets are awarded to deserving members through an application and essay process. The award is sponsored by Kipp and Jennalyn Mayeux, son and daughter-in-law of Dr. Ronald and Mrs. Margaret Mayeux.

MONDART FELLOWS SCHOLARSHIP      
  The Louisiana Rural Rehabilitation Corporation (LRRC) facilitates an annual scholarship program for Louisiana rural residents interested in attending LSU and majoring in the College of Agriculture. It is a scholarship for incoming freshman. The scholarship pays $1,000 per academic year and can be held up to four years with acceptable grades ($4,000 total award over four years).

NATIONAL FFA SCHOLARSHIPS      
  In 2019, the National FFA Organization awarded nearly 1,500 scholarships totaling over $2 million. Scholarships are sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation and are given for a wide variety of experiences, career goals and higher education plans. The selection process takes into account the whole student – FFA involvement, work experience, supervised agricultural experience (SAE), community service, leadership skills and academics.

NATIONAL RICE MONTH SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST      
Image result for national rice month   The National Rice Month Scholarship Contest is here! Create awareness and promote U.S.-grown rice, National Rice Month, and the importance of rice to your state via video - and earn scholarship money in the process. 

Make a video about rice production, healthy eating, sustainability...the list goes on. You can also conduct promotion activities in your community and showcase your work in a video. Entries must be received by October 31, 2019.

USDA 1890 NATIONAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM      
Image result for usda    The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program is a partnership between of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities. The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program is implemented under the USDA Fellows Experience Program (FEP). Scholars accepted into the program will be appointed using the Schedule A(r) authority (5 CFR 213.3202) and are not eligible for noncompetitive conversion to full time employment upon graduation.
